About Me

SONY DSCWith more than 10 years of experience I have helped many individuals and couples reach a higher level of satisfaction and engagement in life – Building better relationships with others, overcoming obstacles that interfered with getting what they wanted from life and confronting challenging situations from their past.

I completed my undergraduate and masters degrees at Duquesne University were I was influenced by Existential Phenomenology. Throughout my professional career, I have been primarily influenced by various schools of Psychoanalysis. I am an active member of the Massachusetts Association for Psychoanalytic Psychology and currently serve as member-at-large and chair of the publications committee. Through my active engagement in continuing education, trainings and workshops, I maintain my commitment to my own development as a psychotherapist and continue to learn how to best help my patients.

I currently hold the position of Assistant Dean of Student Affairs/Director of Counseling at The Boston Conservatory where I supervise all counseling and wellness services and initiatives from a holistic wellness model. In the past I have worked in a number of outpatient settings, including a methadone maintenance program and other non-profit agencies. I developed and directed a Bilingual Chemical Dependency Program in Long Island, NY at Alternatives Counseling Services. From 2006 – 2013 I served as the Alcohol and Other Drug Counselor at Northeastern University’s Health and Counseling Services.
